A great way to use this cloth is to grab your tongs from the kitchen, wrap one microfiber cloth around each head of the tong, and attach it with a rubber band. This way you can lightly pinch the slat of the blind and clean both sides with one swoop. This will speed up the chore, so you’ll be done in no time!

We recommend using microfiber cloths specifically (rather than a feather duster). The microfibers grab the dust particles from the blinds, whereas the feather duster simply pushes the dust into the air. You can wash and dry the microfiber cloths which actually gets rid of the dirt instead of moving it around.

There’s a different method for cleaning blinds in the kitchen because the kitchen exposes the blinds to grease and other tough agents that are not removable by vacuum or microfiber cloth alone. Don’t fret as the cleaning method is still very simple.

Cleaning Blinds With Vinegar and a Sock

Distilled white vinegar is a powerful natural cleaning agent because of its acidic levels. Unlike other cleaning chemicals, the vinegar will not damage the faux-wood look of your venetian blinds, but it is still strong enough to remove the grease, dirt, and grime that has accrued on the blinds.

To create the mixture: fill a bowl with one part water and one part distilled white vinegar.

Grab an old sock and stick your hand inside. Dip your fingers in the bowl of water and vinegar. Then, grab the slat of the blind between your fingers and thumb and run your hand along the entire length of each slat. Similar to the way the tongs and microfiber cloths clean the blinds in the other rooms, sliding your hand inside the sock along the blind allows you to clean quickly.
